words you can't afford

"buying it," believing, what is it that you use to assess the value of words? and what makes it suddenly unaffordable? then there are words you can't afford to say for whatever reason. propriety, the fear of revealing too much, vulnerability, commitment.

then there's people like us who make a living of words. words others can't seem to extract from their own thoughts, words they are bound to think of, now or in the future--quantifiable, traceable. it's what we monetize and analyze.

and yet there are people too poor to buy books, while some of the most valuable words are given away, free and uncalled for.
